Nursery Link Check is for parents choosing a video baby monitor. Listings blur the first question, which is what carries the picture. Some monitors send it straight from the camera to a handheld screen by radio, with no internet involved. Some send it over your home Wi-Fi to a phone app. Some do both. That one fact decides whether the monitor works when the internet drops, whether you can look in from work, and what there is to secure. The second thing listings blur is range. Almost every no-Wi-Fi monitor says 1,000 ft, and the makers' own small print calls that an open-air or line-of-sight number. This site sorts monitors by link type first, then shows the range and battery numbers as the makers state them, with the conditions attached.

How picks are made
We choose every product from public information: the manufacturer's spec sheet and Amazon listing, safety certifications, warranty terms, and recurring themes in what owners report. We read the listing numbers closely, run them through the same math as the calculator on this site, and leave out products whose listings hide the numbers that matter. We only list products sold on Amazon. If a number on this site is a manufacturer claim, we label it as a claim.
We do not test products
